PLANTING DESIGNER/PLANT BUYER

Ian Barker Gardens is an award-winning landscape design, construction and maintenance company based in Canterbury, Victoria, specialising in high-end residential gardens.
We are seeking a dedicated Planting Designer to join our design team and assist with planting design and plant supply for our design and construction clients.
The position will require regular contact with all members of the design team, reporting directly to the Design Manager, as well as contact with our construction team, suppliers, nurseries and clients. You will be working in an open and collaborative design studio on a diverse range of projects as well as visiting our construction sites to check plant stock and placement.
Desirable skills include;
- Retail or wholesale plant buying knowledge or experience
- Strong horticultural knowledge and a passion for plants
- Ability to design with plants
- Great time management and organizational skills
- Effective collaboration with others
- Ability to work on multiple projects in varying stages of completion
- AutoCAD experience will be considered a bonus
