MIFGS 2016 Update: Construction Day 7…

Day 7 of construction at the 2016 Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show has seen our dedicated team start work on the all important planting for our garden ‘Reflection’ presented by Australian House & Garden magazine.

As we mentioned on yesterday’s blog, our fabulous plants from Antique Perennials have arrived on site ready to be placed. The beautiful plants, which are looking fantastic, have started to fill up the garden beds today and are already making a huge difference to the overall appearance of the garden. Although there is still a lot of work to be done in the next four days, the garden is starting to look a lot more ‘complete’.

In addition to placing plants, today we began installing our Ekodeck decking, which was provided by our wonderful sponsors Ekologix. The Ekodeck is being used to create the floor of our boathouse and boardwalk.

The team also installed our amazing black mirror water feature from Lump Sculpture Studio, which we know will look absolutely spectacular in the finished garden!

Check out some images of today’s progress….

Beautiful perennial plants will fill up the garden bed and soften the lines of the hard scape to produce an overall balanced and harmonious garden

Once complete, the abundance of naturalistic planting will help to soften the strong lines of the hardscape.
